Nobody will refuse you!

If people help with gestures and smiles and small words in your language and if you show the effort to speak Portuguese, people will not refuse your Portuguese because it is not perfect. It’s the other way around.

People will politely correct you and next time they will talk to you they will remember your words and teach new ones!

What people want is to communicate, to understand and be understood even in the small things.

Remember that the people you are talking to don’t  know your language either. They are good at their own language as you are at yours. They might know very well the language you are learning but they don’t know other languages. Actually, you are both at the same level.

So speak every time you have the chance!
